Christine Batt | Barrister & Solicitor

Christine established Batt Law in April 2018 having spent 18 years in a central Wellington law firm.

Christine has over 30 years experience in a wide variety of litigation work. She is a passionate and fearless advocate for her clients. Her core business is providing practical and effective advice and representation in a variety of courts and tribunals.

Christine is a lead provider of Family and Civil Legal Aid.

Helen Herbert | Barrister & Solicitor

Helen graduated from Otago University with a Bachelor of Laws in December 2021 and was admitted to the bar in June 2022. Before starting her law career with Batt Law in January 2022, Helen spent 4 years working as an office assistant for a sole practitioner in Dunedin whose work was based in Family Law with an emphasis in Lawyer for Child work.

Helen is currently working mainly in the area of Family Law and wishes to become a Lawyer for Child in the future. Outside of work she is involved in volunteer community work and loves to get outdoors with her family.

Meghan Moore | Barrister & Solicitor

Meghan graduated from Victoria University with a Bachelor of Laws in May 2018 and was admitted to the bar in September 2018. She started her career with Batt Law before moving to Gibson Sheat where she spent 2 years working in the property team. Meghan returned to Batt Law in October 2020 and has been working mainly in the area of Family Law.

Born in Nelson and raised in Wellington, Meghan enjoys spending time with her family and getting outdoors outside of work. Meghan’s hours are 8:30AM to 2:30PM, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Ruth Wormald | Barrister & Solicitor

Ruth is the newest member of the Batt Law team. She graduated from Auckland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Laws in August 2019 and was admitted to the bar in November 2021. Before joining the Batt Law team, Ruth spent 2 and a half years working as a solicitor at an immigration law firm. She also spent a year volunteering at the Auckland Community Law Centre.

Born and raised in Chesterfield in the United Kingdom, Ruth moved to Auckland in 2010 and completed her education in New Zealand. Outside of work, Ruth enjoys hiking, swimming and adventure activities.

Anna Pilcher | Practice Manager

Anna graduated from Victoria University with a Bachelor of Education and Psychology in May 2022. She joined the Batt Law team in August 2021 after having previously worked as a Court Registry Officer for the Ministry of Justice.

Born and raised in Whanganui, Anna enjoys relaxing with her family and friends, and has an affinity for family law and psychology.
